Labor Day Weekend Inspiration

We went out of town for Labor Day weekend and had some peaceful moments by a lake. Ruth made this acrylic after watching the sunset over the water.

Encaustic Demonstration Bremerton

Ruth was able to do a demonstration of her encaustic art at a retirement community in Bremerton today.  Many of the people living there are artists and part of the local association. Most of them paint using oils and this was a new and exciting art form for them.  They would like Ruth to come back and teach a class this fall. They were very encouraging and many purchased her art.
Thanks to the staff and residents at Cascades of Bremerton for hosting this demonstration today!

New Encaustic

Ruth has been changing up the background paper she uses in her Encaustic art. It almost looks like chalk on a blackboard, but it's wax!
